Is that alayah?
2:15 imagine that the trebuchet *does* misfire, and that sling catches you around the leg. For some reason I think that has probably happened before in history, and I can't imagine them living, figuring their leg would either get ripped off or just rip them in half, or at best you'd be launched several hundred feet or more.
My experience with Nimmy's is with the MR2 version at Kinloss, had many an Air Experience flight in them as a local ATC cadet. Just watching this video, I can smell the interior already.
how does it smell inside? im curious
Merci
Is there a "LONG" Version?????
Think the newer version is longer you even get to see the bog lol 😂

Your welcome, WR 963 is in the process of being moved to the Yorkshire air museum I believe her scheme will be possibly be going back to her AEW days

Splendidly reliable if maintained correctly.

It was made of Canadian spruce not balsa I think
Think you could be right I know balsa was used in some of the construction

Seen all these thrashing around in the 70s 80s at RAF Finningley airshows ,great days 🇬🇧 when you could sit in everything and no overcrowding or ques even ,beautiful lady's giving out stickers for tobacco advertising 😊
Sounds great to have days like that 🙂

Sailor Moon: Thomas? Ash: What's He Doing? Rosie: & Where Is His Face & #1?
It looks ridiculous nothing like the original !!!!
It may not be an exact copy of the original FAB 1 or even a close copy ( original full size version is in a car museum in America ) but hey it makes people happy at conventions when they see it and reminds them of Thunderbirds so ok it's not everybody's cup of tea obviously not yours but hey your entitled to your opinion 😁
Its just wrong proportions ughhh
It had a German designer and had decent performance but was still left behind as other, higher-performance aircraft came along in the late '30s. The designer wouldn't accept the widening of the very-narrow cockpit area to facilitate access to the controls by the other crewmen should the pilot have been injured or killed.

Bro Thomas the tank engine IRL?
Thanks for this. I was always fascinated by the R1 and the secretive work of 51 Sqn. I served in the RAF from 1989-2005 and in the course of my work on one occasion met some of the crew of R1 XW666 which was lost after having to ditch in the Moray Firth in 1995. Only 7 crew were on board because it was flight testing after a service at Kinloss. All survived thanks to the skill of the captain, Art Stacey. Their account of it all was very interesting. I have never seen a shot of the contents of the panniers/‘bomb bay’ so thanks for that!
Thank you for your comment have seen the cockpit section of XW666 at the South Yorkshire Air Museum where it's on display
Rather unfortunate choice of numbers for the aircrafts callsign.
At once leader.
The most gorgeous starship ever designed.
Sure is a great deign 🙂
My school in Yorkshire in the 60's was close to V-bomber bases. We had regular overflies from Valiants, Victors and Vulcans. We were able to tell which V-bomber it was before seeing it from the engine sound.
Which V bomber loudest
Trebucet Gancet😂😂
I saw this aircraft when I was an Air Cadet at RAF Marham in 1977. M.
I wonder if that’s how Jesus Christ used a lathe
Listen to those engines
Sadly only a recording but it did sound great ☺
What happened to the Bristol 188? is that being left to the elements too? Its not a great idea to leave those incredibly unique and precious aircraft to natures whims.
Thankfully it wasn't outside last time I visited not sure where it has gone to hopefully to another museum and inside
That must have been some accident....
This is how they respond in Wales now :)
do you have an uncut version?
Only did this version
Love the video, I have logbooks relating to an AEOP Button who crewed on WR978...:)
Glad you liked the video always interesting to have items from crew members
I visited cosford two weeks ago. Ten years after my last visit. What a vast improvement. At last we can see some of the exhibits that Hendon have kept to themselves for so many years. Cosford needs more hangers if only to get aircraft of the ceiling and down on their wheels. No aircraft should be outside where they are going to deteriorate.
Been meaning to visit again this year but I'm a little put off going with the changes and the removal of a fair few aircraft but saying that a visit is on the cards to see the Wellington now its finished
Utterly incredible!
Great video of the parade - thanks for uploading.
Thank you 🙂
Love it here
What does this plane use to start? Compressed air or compressed exhaust gases?
It uses a starter cartridge
@@gaz11h OMG at first i tought that you were joking but indeed it uses a compressed gas starter catridge!! People were very creative!! Regards from chile, we had those serving in air force
Very cool… But I wish there was a shot of the projectile flying through the air and landing - also, the force of impact, and the distance traveled- that would be good information
I have been asked that a lot over the years this video has been on RUclips and it was not possible with the kit I had at the time trees being in the way and the landing area being obscured
To be honest, i dont like how they've just rolled some of the jets out of the Test Flight hangar and placed them beside the carpark so they could move some of the old warplanes in there. I thought it was perfectly laid out before, although it's still nice theres now a Wellington bomber and Blenheim in the other hangar now
Agreed It annoys me to, the test flight hangar was always a favorite of mine
@@gaz11h same here, it always used to fascinate me as a kid. I've seen it change slightly in past years but nothing like most recently
They seem to have forgotten that, unlike some of the indoor exhibits, the test flight aircraft are genuinely unique. What happened to the airliners, by the way? Will the JU52-3m et al go the same way? Another question someone might know the answer to - did I imagine that the Britannia was once in BOAC livery?
Supplementary question - wasn’t there also an ex-Indian or Pakistan Air Force Liberator there, too?
@@mikepowell2776 agreed the research aircraft are unique and their treatment is wrong, as for the Junkers 52 it's now gone down to Kent I believe
This video is cool Edit:first like :)
Thanks 🙂
Criminal activity. The only way i can describe what is happening to our nation's museum's. All sadly declining & being thinned out for what seems like a more interactive 'theme park' experience rather than educating on the subject. IWM seem keen on this & have watered down all their new exhibitions. Sad times ahead for true enthusiasts. You probably already know but the JU52 now resides at the Kent Battle of Britain Museum & will soon become an educational facility to teach groups on the potential threat of invasion of 1940 (Operation Sea Lion)
Couldn't agree more I did know the Ju 52 heading to Kent but not what was to become of her
It's been about three years since I was last at Cosford, I don't recall there being a JU52 there. I remember the one at Duxford, but that disappeared not long after it was restored. Duxford also sent their HE111 to the Kent BoB museum, sadly sitting outside, although it was restored.
Back in the 60’s Valiants we’re regular visitors to Marshalls Airport Cambridge; they were there for maintenance and modification. At that time there were complaints from the public about the noise when taking off and during ‘on ground’ engine runs, often for around an hour! Being a young plane spotter at the time I loved seeing them. Anyone else remember them at Cambridge?
You rock!
Thanks 🙂
Remember as a kid (1980s) in Rhoose airport there was a Vulcan. My dad and brother, was a very wet rainy weekend, he managed to talk to people inside and we got to sit in a Vulcan cockpit. Have photos. Amazing these days to think what we did as kids back then and what was around and in storage.
Great memories to have
